John Gendall is a New York-based writer, editor, and consultant. He reviews architecture, design, and art for different platforms, including Wallpaper*, Architectural Digest, Artforum, and Dwell. The U.S. correspondent for l’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui and a regular contributor to The Architect’s Newspaper, he also consults as an editor with various organizations, including Rebuild by Design and the National Endowment for the Arts.
He has been a Visiting Instructor at Harvard Graduate School of Design (Department of Urban Planning and Design) and a Visiting Instructor at Pratt Institute (Department of Humanities and Media Studies), and formerly taught urban studies at Parsons The New School for Design from 2008-2012 and architectural history and theory at the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2008-2010. He holds a Master in Design Studies with Distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
